Organizations who segment their users into child orgs within Cirrus Insight have run into the limitation related to Team Scheduling and Colleague Calendars where users in other orgs do not show up in these sections.
With Intra-Org Scheduling that all changes!
This new update breaks down these walls between orgs and allows users to create Team Schedules with people from other related orgs and see all their coworkers in Colleague Calendars.
We also implemented several updates that will benefit anyone who relies on our scheduling features. Read on to learn more!
Who does Intra-Org Scheduling apply to?
- Some key improvements in this update are primarily for customers who use child orgs to segment their users. It allows users in a parent-child and child-child relationship to see each other's calendars, create team schedules with people in other orgs and more!
What's new specific to Intra-Org Scheduling?
- When Intra-Org Scheduling is enabled, users can see team schedules and people within their org and related orgs where the setting is turned on. This setting is enabled by default and admins have the option to turn it off for any and all orgs.
- Team Scheduling gets a new filter that allows users to see only schedules they are a member of or all team schedules in the org and any related org that has Intra-Org Scheduling enabled. This filter remembers the last used selection and applies it every time the user visits Team Scheduling so they have the same results each time:
Before Intra-Org Scheduling |
After Intra-Org Scheduling |
|
- Colleague Calendars allows users to see and share calendars of people within theirs and other related orgs:
Before Intra-Org Scheduling |
After Intra-Org Scheduling |
|
- With Intra-Org Scheduling enabled, users can create team schedules with members from other related orgs. If an admin attempts to turn off the Intra-Org Scheduling setting for an org where a user is a member of a team schedule in another org, they will be prevented from doing so and can download a report with the specific team schedules that are preventing the disablement of the setting. Once these team schedule configurations are resolved, the admin can turn the setting off.
- This has been done to ensure a team schedule can't be broken resulting in a dead booking link situation and poor booking experience for prospects and customers:
What else is new in this update?
The following updates do not require Intra-Org Scheduling to be enabled. These are key UI and UX enhancements we made along the way to improve the overall scheduling experience for our customers.
- Team Scheduling and Colleague Calendars will now show all team schedules and colleague calendars within their org. Previously, a user would have to start searching before calendars and people would show up.
- Infinite scrolling has been implemented in both calendar lists so users can scroll through to find what they need. Useful in cases where users star many calendars or people.
- The Search bar supports more options such as email addresses and names to make it easier to find what you need.
- We now show the email address and title of the person in Colleague Calendars, useful for companies with a large number of people who may have similar names.
- Starred Team Schedules and people will show at the top of each list alphabetically. Non-starred people and calendars will appear below the starred items also in alphabetical order.
